Firstly, know who your customers are, and those that could become repeat customers. This is important.
If you don’t know, then you will waste endless hours and money marketing yourself.
Likely customers are commercial letting and management companies; real estate companies with rent rolls; shopping center management; rail authorities, cities, boroughs, councils and, surprisingly, other cleaning companies.
No one will have your expertise, I can assure you.
Start by identifying properties in your service area that regularly deal with graffiti. Drive through local commercial corridors, industrial areas and shopping districts. Make a note of properties that could use your services and find out who manages them.
You don’t necessarily have to wait until you see graffiti, either. Introduce your company as a local graffiti removal resource they can call when a problem comes up.
Graffiti removal is visual. Before & after photos can often sell your service better than a long explanation.
Photograph your work and keep a record of the surfaces and types of graffiti you’ve successfully removed. Even a handful of good jobs can help demonstrate what you’re capable of.
Whilst you are building up your graffiti removal business you will be asked to perform many jobs outside this particular trade like smoke damage, crime scenes, paint removal, greasy floors, grime on buildings, paving cleaning, gum and grunge.
As always, we are here to help. Check out advice for all types of jobs here.
