Located in the heart of Historic Filipinotown, Los Angeles the historic Saint Columban Catholic Church commissioned a new fresco mural by renowned Filipino-American Muralist Eliseo Art Silva. to serve as the backdrop of a shrine installation.
Soon after the mural's completion, Eliseo noticed early signs of surface wear and color transfer. Without proper protection, the artwork risked deteriorating over time.
MuralShield Matte was selected as a fixative and protective coating from dust, moisture, and daily exposure without altering its natural plaster aesthetic.

Unlike the MuralShield Original, which dries to a glossy finish, MuralShield Matte dries to a true matte finish that maintains the fresco's original look.

This application was done with an High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) sprayer for quick and accurate transfer with no overspray. The mosaic tile border was also protected with MuralShield Original (gloss finish) to highlight the overall appearance.
